Electrical work done properly, first time
We focus on a small set of services and do them well. No guesswork, no unnecessary upselling.
Get your car charged at home, overnight.
A dedicated home charger is faster, safer and cheaper per mile than using a three-pin socket. We survey your property, confirm the earthing arrangement is suitable, and install the unit to the correct specification.
Where work needs certification or Building Regulations notification, we complete the paperwork and tell you what you will receive.
Consumer unit or fuse board giving you problems?
An older fuse board is not automatically unsafe, but it may lack the protection a modern consumer unit provides. We assess what you have, explain what we find, and only recommend replacing it where there is a genuine benefit.
A modern consumer unit includes RCD protection and meets current regulations, which matters when selling or insuring your home. We work as quickly as possible to keep the power off for the minimum time.
Something not right? We will find it.
An EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is required by law for rental properties and useful for homebuyers or homeowners who want reassurance about their installation.
If something is tripping, flickering or not working, fault finding starts at our minimum charge. We explain what we find in plain language, not jargon, and tell you what the options are.
Heating Controls
Thermostats, programmers and heating control upgrades. If your current controls are old or not working correctly, we can assess and replace them.
Smaller Electrical Jobs
New sockets, lighting upgrades, outside sockets, extra circuits and similar work. A job does not have to be large to be worth doing properly. We take smaller jobs seriously.
A quote visit is free. It is a visual assessment only, so we can look at the job and price it properly. If any investigation or physical electrical work is needed, our minimum charge is £102 inc. VAT, which covers travel and up to an hour on site. All prices on this page include VAT.
Work we do not take on
We do not offer out-of-hours emergency callouts, alarm installations, CCTV, or general appliance fitting. If you are not sure whether we can help, just ask. We will tell you straight away whether a job is something we are able to take on.
From people who have had the work done
“Excellent service from Matthew. He fixed our underfloor heating and bathroom light quickly and to a very high standard. He sourced the required parts without delay, which meant everything was resolved in one visit. He worked very efficiently, was clearly very knowledgeable, and took the time to answer additional questions we had about the property. Professional, reliable, and thorough. We would highly recommend his services.”
“Exceptional service. I would not hesitate to recommend Next Phase Energy to any of my friends and neighbours. The work was carried out to a high standard, on time; my property was respected; and Matt was cheerful and polite. This was my happiest interaction with a tradesman for a very long time.”
“Absolutely fab! So professional, got us booked in for the job really quickly and have already recommended them to everyone I know. While here, even fitted a couple of new lights. All round, great job.”
Tell us about your job
No obligation. We will tell you what it involves and what it costs before anything is booked.
We reply within one working day, Monday to Friday. Prefer to send photos? Message us on WhatsApp on 01904 599 109.
What makes the difference
Arrival window, not a whole day
You get a three-hour arrival window. We text when we are on our way. If we are running behind, you hear it from us before you have to ask.
Price in writing, no surprises
You get the price in writing before we start. If we open something up and find a problem we did not expect, we stop, we ring you, and nothing else happens until you say so. You will never get an invoice with something on it you have not already agreed.
A real person answers
When you call, you get a person who knows the work and can book you in. Most calls are taken by Nathan, who handles our bookings and can usually price a straightforward job over the phone.
12 month guarantee
Our work is guaranteed for 12 months. NAPIT registered, and DBS checked. Where work needs certification or Building Regulations notification, we complete the paperwork and tell you what you will receive.
Simple from start to finish
Get in touch
Call us, fill in the form, or send a photo on WhatsApp. Tell us what you need and where you are.
Free site visit
We come out, look over the job and give you a written price. The visit is free and there is no obligation. It is a visual assessment, so no work is carried out on the day.
Work is booked
Once you are happy with the price, we agree a date. You get a three-hour arrival window and a text when we are on our way.
Job done, paperwork sorted
We carry out the work, tidy up, and explain what was done. Where certification is required, we handle it and tell you what you will receive.
What happens on the day
The things people actually want to know, answered properly.
How long will the power be off?
It depends on the job. A board change can mean the power is off for most of the day. Other jobs might only need a short interruption. We give you a realistic idea before we start and keep the off time as short as possible.
What about working from home?
If the power is coming off for any length of time, it is worth having a laptop charged and a mobile hotspot ready just in case. We always warn you in advance.
Dust and mess?
For dusty or dirty work, we use dust sheets or sheet up the whole room if needed. We treat your home with the same care we would expect in our own.
Do I need to be home?
No, not if you are comfortable leaving us to it. Most customers carry on with their day. We will have the radio on and your house exactly as we found it when we leave.
Before we leave?
We explain what was done in plain language, tidy up, and make sure everything is working. If something unexpected came up, we will already have talked to you about it.
Jobs done across Goole and the surrounding area
We get stuck in locally
NextPhase Energy has supported The Hub on Goole high street, run by Help the Homelezz Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire (registered charity 1214111). It is not a distant cause. It is a building in our own town, doing practical work for people who need it.
Matt has also volunteered his time and skills on community builds in the local area, including work with the BBC DIY SOS team in Beverley.
We are here because the community gives us work. Putting something back seems like the right thing to do.
Matt Crabb and the NextPhase Energy team
I started NextPhase Energy because I kept seeing the same problems: tradespeople who do not show up when they say they will, who talk in jargon, or who disappear once the money is taken. I wanted to do it differently.
I qualified in 2008 and I still enjoy the variety of it. Every house is different, every customer has a different situation, and working out the right solution is still satisfying. I am not rushing on to the next job. I want to leave your house with the work done properly and you knowing exactly what was done and why.
Whether I am on site myself or working alongside a trusted colleague, you will be introduced to whoever is coming before they arrive. The standards are the same either way.
We are based in East Yorkshire and work across Goole, Howden, Selby, York and the surrounding area.
Basic DBS Checked. DBS checked, so you know exactly who is coming into your home.

Common questions
What area do you cover?
We work across Goole, Howden, Selby, Drax, Swinefleet and the surrounding villages most weeks. We also travel to York, Tadcaster, Brough, Pocklington, Market Weighton and further afield for larger or planned jobs.
Do I have to be home while you work?
No, as long as you are comfortable leaving us to it. Most customers find they can carry on with their day. We treat your home the same way we would expect ours to be treated.
Is the quote visit free?
Yes. A quote visit is a visual assessment: we come out, look at the job, talk it through and give you a written price, at no charge and with no obligation. No physical work is carried out on that visit.
If you need us to investigate a fault, take something apart or carry out electrical work, our minimum charge is £102 inc. VAT, which covers travel and up to an hour on site.
How do I know the price will not change?
You get the price in writing before any work starts. If we open something up and find a problem we did not expect, we stop, ring you, and nothing else happens until you say so. You will never receive an invoice for anything you have not already agreed.
Do you carry out electrical safety certificates?
Yes. We issue EICRs (Electrical Installation Condition Reports) for landlords, homebuyers and homeowners. We can also advise on any remedial work that is needed following the inspection.
Are you registered with a competent persons scheme?
Yes. NextPhase Energy is registered with NAPIT. Where work needs certification or Building Regulations notification, we complete the paperwork and tell you what you will receive.
Do you carry out rewires?
We do not take on traditional rewires. We will consider a rewire if you want to go fully digital with Velbus smart wiring. For most homes a consumer unit upgrade or an EICR is a better place to start, so give us a call and we will talk it through.
How do I send photos of the job?
You can attach photos to a WhatsApp message on 01904 599 109, or describe the job in the enquiry form on this page and we will come back to you.
How quickly do you respond to enquiries?
We aim to respond to every enquiry within one working day, Monday to Friday.
Ready to sort it?
